BikeBolts Terms of Service
Effective date: July 28, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the BikeBolts websites, apps, and services (the “Service”) provided by BikeBolts, Inc. (“BikeBolts,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
BikeBolts provides a catalog of bicycle parts and related information, including specifications, compatibility, fit, and maintenance information (the “Catalog”), and lets you save Catalog items to lists in your account. The Service is in active development; features may change, be added, or be removed.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to enter these Terms; if you are under that age, a parent or guardian must agree on your behalf. You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Keep your account information accurate, and tell us promptly at support@bikebolts.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. The Catalog: What You May and May Not Do
The Catalog is provided for your personal reference and, for shops, for use in serving customers in the ordinary course of business.
You may:
- Browse and search the Catalog and view any information in it.
- Save Catalog items to your lists, bikes, and (when available) garage.
- Share links to Catalog pages.
- Quote small portions of Catalog information in reviews, forum posts, videos, and similar contexts, with attribution to BikeBolts.
You may not:
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-download the Catalog or any substantial portion of it, whether manually or with automated tools, except through interfaces we expressly provide.
- Copy, reproduce, or mirror the Catalog, or any substantial portion of it, into another product, service, dataset, or database.
- Use the Catalog, or any substantial portion of it, to build, train, or improve a product or service that competes with the Service.
- Use the Catalog, or any data obtained from the Service, to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or otherwise develop any machine learning or artificial intelligence model or dataset, whether or not commercial.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Catalog data, or provide systematic access to it to any third party.
- Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or other technical measures protecting the Service.
The Catalog includes factual information drawn from manufacturers and other public sources; individual facts belong to no one, but the selection, structure, enrichment, verification, and presentation of the Catalog are owned by BikeBolts and protected by intellectual property and unfair competition laws, along with these Terms.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of content you add to the Service, such as list names, notes, and (when available) garage entries, maintenance records, photos, and receipts (“Your Content”). You grant BikeBolts a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content as needed to operate and improve the Service. We may use feedback and error reports you submit (for example, “this spec is wrong”) to correct and improve the Catalog without obligation to you.
We may also de-identify and aggregate Your Content and your usage of the Service — for example, how long a chain typically lasts on a given drivetrain — and use and share that aggregated information to improve the Catalog and provide insights to the cycling ecosystem, such as shops, distributors, and brands. Aggregated information never identifies you or your individual bikes, and this does not change Section 3 of the Privacy Policy: we do not sell your personal information.
You are responsible for Your Content. Do not add content that is unlawful, infringes others’ rights, or contains malicious code.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by: interfering with its operation; probing or testing vulnerabilities without authorization; impersonating others; using the Service to send spam; or using another person’s account without permission.
6. Catalog Information Is Reference Information: Verify Before You Buy or Wrench
This section matters. Read it.
Accuracy. The Catalog aggregates specifications, compatibility, fit, and maintenance information from manufacturers and other sources. We work hard to keep it accurate and current, but manufacturers change products and documentation, sources contain errors, and our ingestion and structuring processes are not perfect. THE CATALOG MAY CONTAIN ERRORS OR OMISSIONS, AND WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY SPECIFICATION, COMPATIBILITY STATEMENT, FIT GUIDANCE, OR MAINTENANCE INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.
Verify before purchasing. Before you buy a part based on Catalog information, confirm the specification and compatibility against the manufacturer’s current documentation or with a qualified bicycle mechanic or retailer. Catalog information is a starting point for your research, not a substitute for it.
Maintenance and installation. Bicycle service and installation can affect your safety. Work described in the Catalog should be performed only by people with the skills, tools, and judgment the job requires, following the manufacturer’s current instructions, including torque specifications and the use of any required tools. If you are not confident in a repair, have it done by a qualified bicycle mechanic. You are responsible for deciding whether you are qualified to perform any given job.
Assumption of risk. Cycling and bicycle maintenance carry inherent risks, including serious injury and death. You assume all risks arising from your riding, your maintenance and installation decisions, and your reliance on information in the Service.
No professional advice. The Service provides general product and maintenance information, not professional, engineering, or safety advice for your specific situation.
AI features. Parts of the Service may use artificial intelligence to answer questions, transcribe voice memos, or summarize records. AI-generated output can be wrong, including about compatibility, torque specifications, and procedures, even when it sounds confident. AI output is Catalog-style reference information and everything in this Section 6 applies to it: verify before you buy or wrench.
7. Third Party Products and Sites
The Service describes and links to products made and sold by third parties. BikeBolts does not manufacture or sell those products and is not responsible for them. Your purchase and use of third party products is governed by the manufacturer’s and seller’s terms and warranties, not ours. Links to third party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) BIKEBOLTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, INCLUDING FROM RELIANCE ON CATALOG INFORMATION, PARTS THAT DO NOT FIT, OR MAINTENANCE OR INSTALLATION PERFORMED BY YOU OR OTHERS; AND (B) BIKEBOLTS’ TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, OR FRAUD. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
10. Indemnification
You will indemnify and hold harmless BikeBolts and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third party rights in connection with the Service.
11. Copyright Complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice compliant with the DMCA to our designated agent at support@bikebolts.com or BikeBolts, Inc., 600 N Broad Street, Suite 5 #4150, Middletown, DE 19709. We respond to valid notices, including removing content and terminating repeat infringers where appropriate.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms (including the Catalog restrictions in Section 3), create risk for us or other users, or if required by law, and we may discontinue the Service with reasonable notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 14) survive.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court where you live.
15. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and BikeBolts about the Service. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
